Identify your interests and skills with a career counselor or receive career assistance focused on your selected industry with an industry advisor.
For alumni who graduated more than six months ago, individual appointments are $35/hr and are limited to three sessions. Walk-in appointments are available to recent graduates (less than six months since graduation) free of charge. Make an appointment.
Fees begin on the following dates:
- May graduates: December 1
- August graduates: March 1
- January graduates: July 1
Every fall and spring semester, University Career Services hosts a two-day, multi-industry fair for current students and alum. View dates and details, including preparation tips.
Attend workshops on career topics such as Behavioral Interviewing and Salary Negotiation or come by for a panel facilitated by area employers and other alumni.

CareerShift is an online resource designed to support the #1 request of job seekers: an easy-to-use website to conduct and organize a job search.
While other web services provide bits and pieces of the job hunt process, CareerShift provides an all-in-one resource to crack the “hidden job market.” With CareerShift, you can:
- Search job listings from all public websites, company websites, and newspapers
- Get the contact information of employees and alumni from millions of companies
- Upload as many targeted resumes and cover letters as you like

Exclusively for the Mason community, HireMason is a job search engine available to alumni, free for those who registered as a student and a one-time registration fee of $10 for those who did not.

University Career Services offers alumni the opportunity for formal and informal assessment of personality, skills, and interests as a part of the career exploration process.
Available assessments are the Strong Interest Inventory, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and SkillScan-Career Driver. All assessments require an appointment, include a one-hour interpretation session with a counselor, and incur the fees listed below.
- Recent alumni (graduated within the past 6 months): $15
- Alumni (graduated more than six months ago): $40 for one, $60 for two, $90 for three
Give back to the newest generation of Mason students via Career Link, our alumni-student connection tool. Share your industry experience, career path advice, and job search expertise with students by registering in Career Link. Once in the database, students will be able to search for you by their professional interests and reach out to you with career questions and requests such as:
- Informational interviews
- Job shadowing
- Phone or email conversations
- Resume critiques
University Career Services uses Career Link as a resource to fill volunteering opportunities such as facilitating workshops and serving as a career panelist.
Career Link also serves as a networking tool for you to connect with other alumni as you too can search the database for other professionals.
