On: A guide for career planning
and job search - You and/or your
students may pick up a free copy in
SUB 1, Room 348. The guide is filled
with information and exercises that
will enhance students' self-knowledge,
career knowledge, decision-making, communication
and writing skills.

Exploring
Majors - Provides information on each undergraduate major
including a description, skills needed to be successful in that
major, job titles of recent graduates, organizations employing
graduates, and resources for further exploration. Collaborative
effort among department faculty, Academic Advising and Career
Services.

to Start....Career Resources by Major - An annotated listing
of the best resources for each major available in the Career Library.
Helps students to get started on researching majors, career fields,
graduate programs, and employment resources.

Career
Library Visits and Assignments
- Faculty can arrange to bring students
to Career Services for an orientation to the Career Library resources
by filling out the Program Request Form.
You may also assign projects that accomplish multiple goals simultaneously
such as attending Career Services workshops or events, writing a research
paper on careers in a particular field, or conducting information
interviews with GMU alumni or a Career
Counselor.

information on majors, careers, employment
and salary trends, graduate school, local
employers and professional associations.
