Appointment Options

Current degree-seeking Mason students, visit our office in SUB I, Room 3400 or call 703-993-2370 to make an appointment with a career counselor or industry advisor. To make an appointment, you must first be registered in HireMason.

Professionalism Appointment
You landed a job or internship, now what? Receive coaching on making the most of your internship or job through a professionalism appointment! Common topics include: setting performance goals, finding a mentor, crafting appropriate email messages, and building a productive relationship with a supervisor. 
Walk-ins

General Walk-ins

General walk-ins are 15-minute appointments taken on a first come, first served basis. No need to call ahead, just show up! They are a great time to talk about cover letter, resume, HireMason, and general questions.
  • Monday to Thursday: 2 to 4 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m. to Noon
  • Evening hours: Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. when classes are in session during fall and spring semesters


Industry Walk-ins

Fall 2017: September 5 - December 8 (when classes are in session)
Industry Walk-Ins are a great time to talk about internship and job search strategies as well as basic interviewing and networking tips for breaking into your field. Industry walk-ins are 15-minute appointments taken on a first come, first served basis. No need to call ahead!

School of Business Walk-ins

Students in the School of Business are encouraged to visit the Business Career Services office in Enterprise Hall, Room 038. 

  • Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to Noon.

Appointment Policies

All Mason students and alumni are welcome to attend University Career Services workshops, programs, and events.

Current Mason degree-seeking students and Mason alumni can schedules appointments with us. We are unable to offer one-on-one appointments, walk-ins, or HireMason accounts to Continuing Education or Non-Degree students at this time. We encourage these students to utilize our online resources and attend our career events to gain assistance in the career development process.

No Show or Same Day Cancellation
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please call our office at (703) 993-2370. Any combination of three same day cancellations or no shows will result in your being unable to make appointments with a career counselor or industry advisor for the rest of the semester.
